Malavya Yoga is the fourth of the five Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas, belonging to Venus. The yoga forms when Venus is in own sign (Taurus or Libra) or exalted (Pisces) and simultaneously in a kendra house. Malavya is the yoga of refinement, beauty, harmony in relationships, artistic gifts, and material comfort earned through grace rather than struggle.

Malavya Yoga forms when Venus is in own sign (Taurus or Libra) or exalted in Pisces, and simultaneously in a kendra house (1, 4, 7, 10) from the Lagna. Venus in Pisces in the 4th house, in Libra in the 7th, or in Taurus in the 10th, are textbook examples. Venus in Pisces is double-strong because Pisces is also the sign of Venus's functional benefic placement.

BPHS puts the Pancha Mahapurusha yogas in Chapter 75, not in the Chapter 36 yoga collection. Malavya appears in Phaladeepika at 6.3, alongside Hamsa, not at 6.4, which belongs to Sasa. Phaladeepika 6.3 gives strong limbs, resolve, wealth, a wife, children and good fortune, prosperity, good meals, pleasures, good vehicles, fame and learning, which is where the marriage and material-comfort reading comes from. Saravali 37.3-4 gives thin lips, even physique, splendour equal to the moon, a majestic voice, a longevity of seventy years, and rule over Lata, Malwa and Sindhu. Saravali says nothing about artistic vocation; the art reading comes from Venus as karaka, not from this verse.
