Sudarshana Homam is the fire rite invoking the Sudarshana Chakra of Lord Vishnu, the discus that destroys all obstacles, hostile influences and black-magic effects. Performed when the family or business faces unexplained recurring obstacles, when there is suspicion of nazar (evil eye) or abhichara (hostile rite), or before a major venture exposed to competitive hostility. The Vishnu Purana, the Pancharatra Agama and the Sudarshana Stotra are the principal sources.

- The Sudarshana Chakra is invoked in the form of the Shat-Kona Yantra (six-pointed star with the Sudarshana Beej Mantra in the centre). The yantra is drawn fresh on each performance and is not retained.
- The rite is most powerful on a Saturday (Shanivar), on a Krishna-Paksha Ashtami, or on the Sudarshana Jayanti (Margashirsha Shukla Dvadashi).
- Til, ghee, mustard seeds, rai, kapur and durva samidha are the principal offerings. The classical ahuti count is 1008; the household form uses 108.
- The rite is also performed at the inauguration of a new business or office, as a Vastu-supplement to clear any residual hostile vibration in a building.

Sudarshana Homam is the textbook countermeasure to suspected abhichara (hostile rite), nazar (evil eye) effects, and unexplained recurring obstacles where the chart does not show an obvious dosha. The Pancharatra Agama frames it as the principal Vishnu-rite for the destruction of asadhya-vighnas (insurmountable obstacles). It is also the canonical rite for clearing a building of residual hostile vibration.
