How we score
Each candidate day starts at a neutral 50 out of 100. We add up to 25 points for a favoured nakshatra and up to 12 for a favoured tithi, plus smaller bonuses for the right vara (weekday) and paksha. We subtract 30 for an avoided nakshatra, 18 for an avoided tithi or inauspicious yoga, and 15 if Vishti karana (Bhadra) falls on the day. The rules are drawn from BPHS, Muhurta Chintamani and Pandit J.N. Bhasin's tables, and we cite the matching limb in the reasons column so you can see why a window scored what it did.
