Payments
Refunds and cancellations
Last updated 26 October 2026
This page explains what you are buying when you buy questions on Vidhata, when you can get your money back, and how to ask for it. It describes how the product works today.
The short version
- You buy a number of questions to Ask Acharya, paid once. Nothing renews.
- Your free questions each day are always used before the ones you bought.
- Bought questions are not refundable once they reach your balance, unless a payment went wrong. They can only be used on Vidhata and cannot be turned into cash or moved to another account.
- If something went wrong with a payment, write to support@vidhata.app with the payment reference.
What you are buying
A question pack adds a fixed number of questions to your balance on Vidhata. Each time you ask Acharya a question after your free questions for the day are used up, one bought question is taken from the balance. Bought questions stay in your balance for 365 days from the moment the payment clears, and any left after that expire. They are tied to the account that bought them.
Cancelling
A question pack is a single payment, not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel after it goes through and nothing will be charged again. You can stop at the payment page at any time before you pay, and nothing is taken. If you close the payment page or the payment fails, no questions are added and no money is kept by us.
When we refund
Questions you buy are not refundable once they are in your balance, whether or not you have used them, so please check the pack before you pay. We refund in full only when a payment went wrong: you were charged but the questions never reached your balance, you were charged twice for the same purchase, or you were charged a different amount from the one shown before you paid.
Bought in the Android or iPhone app
If you bought questions inside the Vidhata app on Android or iPhone, the payment went to Google Play or the Apple App Store, not to us, and only they can refund it. On Android, open the order in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. They decide under their own rules. If the store refunds you, the questions from that purchase are removed from your balance. If you were charged in the app and the questions never arrived, write to us as well and we will help you sort it out.
Failed or pending payments
If a payment fails, nothing is added to your balance. If your bank took the money anyway, the bank or our payment provider returns it on its own, usually within 5 to 7 working days, and you do not need to ask us. If a payment is still being confirmed, your questions appear as soon as it clears; you can close the page and they will still arrive.
What happens when we refund
For payments made on the website, we refund the full amount to the same card, bank account or UPI app you paid with, through our payment provider, Cashfree Payments. Once the refund is issued it usually reaches you within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank. When a pack is refunded, any of its questions you have not used are removed from your balance. Questions from other packs are not touched.
How to ask
Email support@vidhata.app from the address on your account, with the payment reference (you can find it on your Questions page and in your receipt email) and a line about what happened. A person reads every message.
