• How is a gemstone chosen as per date of birth?+

  From your birth details we find your Moon sign (rashi). The lord of that sign carries a gemstone, the rashi ratna, which is the popular date-of-birth stone. A precise reading also weighs the lagna (ascendant) lord and the functional benefics of the whole chart, which is why a chart-based reading refines what the rashi stone suggests.

• Is the rashi stone the same as my life stone?+

  Not always. The rashi ratna comes from the Moon sign lord. The life stone (jeevan ratna) is read from the lagna lord, and the lucky stone from the yogakaraka. When the Moon sign and the ascendant point to different planets, a practitioner decides which to wear first. Ask Acharya reads all three from your chart.

• Why is Blue Sapphire (Neelam) treated with caution?+

  Neelam is Saturn’s stone and it acts fast, for better or worse. The tradition says to wear it on trial for two or three days first and remove it if sleep, mood, or luck sour. Only wear it long-term after a chart reading confirms Saturn is a friend for your ascendant.

• Can I wear any gemstone I like?+

  A gemstone is a supporting condition, not jewellery to pick by colour. The wrong planet’s stone can press on a weak area of the chart. Wear the stone that supports a planet your chart actually needs, prescribed from the birth chart rather than a shop counter.

• Which finger and metal should I use?+

  Each stone has a traditional metal, finger, day, and mantra, shown in the result above. As a rule the stone should touch the skin, be energised with its mantra, and first be worn on the planet’s weekday morning after a clean bath.
