Vedic astrology, written for thinking seekers

Families ask whether you can operate on Amavasya, whether Tuesday is too much Mars, whether Wednesday is soft enough. The classical muhurta texts have clear answers for elective surgery, and one firm rule: an emergency is never delayed for a muhurat. Here is how the tradition actually reads the calendar for a planned operation.

Solar and lunar eclipses are not just astronomical events in Vedic thought - they are the moments when Rahu and Ketu, the shadow planets, eclipse the lights. Here is what classical tradition says to do (and not do) during eclipses.

Yes. Friday is a preferred weekday for buying a car, because Shukra rules both the day and vehicles themselves. What still spoils a Friday, and why the delivery date matters more than the payment date.

Western astrology has made Mercury retrograde a cultural phenomenon. The Vedic tradition treats it more carefully - sometimes auspicious, sometimes not. Here is the honest sorting.

Yes. Wednesday is one of the four preferred weekdays for a vehicle purchase, because Budh governs documents and negotiation and a car purchase is mostly paperwork. Here is what still spoils a Wednesday, and why delivery is a separate election.

Yes. Monday is one of the four preferred weekdays for buying a vehicle, along with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, because it belongs to Chandra. Tuesday and Saturday are the two to avoid. What still spoils a Monday is the nakshatra and tithi sitting on it.

Sunday is neither preferred nor avoided for buying a vehicle, so the nakshatra, tithi and paksha of that particular Sunday decide the answer. Delivery on a Sunday is fine when the date is clean.

Yes. Thursday belongs to Guru and is one of four preferred weekdays for a vehicle purchase, along with Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Here is why, and the nakshatras and tithis that spoil a Thursday anyway.

Classically no. Tuesday belongs to Mangal and vehicle muhurat lists it as a day to skip, along with Saturday. But the weekday is one limb of five, so a Tuesday with a strong nakshatra and tithi can still be workable. Taking delivery is a separate question, answered here.

Classically no, because Saturday belongs to Shani and a vehicle is bought for movement. The weekday is one factor though, and a Saturday with a strong nakshatra and tithi can still work. Includes the delivery question answered separately.

Rahu and Ketu transit one zodiac sign for 18 months together. Their movement reshapes desire, detachment, and karmic acceleration in specific houses. Here is what each placement does.

Sade Sati is Saturn's 7.5-year transit through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd houses from your natal Moon. Here are the three phases, what classical sources actually predict, and why the period is real but badly over-feared.

Saturn takes 30 years to circle the zodiac, ~2.5 years per sign. Each transit through the 12 houses from your Moon predictably restructures one life domain. Here is the map.

Jupiter spends about 12 to 13 months in each sign, and its position from your natal Moon reshapes specific life areas. Here is how the transit reads by Moon sign, the houses Jupiter activates, and what each placement classically supports.
